„KOMOREBI. The light that filters through the trees” is the initiatory journey of a man struggling with Fear. It is a story wrapped in love, humor and courage about deconstructed trauma, love and acceptance. What does it mean to be a „real man” today? An up-to-date dissection of the journey to selfhood and the impact of discovering your true face, hidden under manufactured masks.
The beauty of the metaphor of this untranslatable word from Japanese, this almost kinesthetic state of grace evoked by an image so rich in stimuli, is very similar to the proposal that this beautiful and moving performance makes to the audience: to think for one evening, at a theater performance, about the fears of the man next to us; that is, about our fears, all of us.
„Komorebi. Light filtering through the trees” is a performance staged in such a way as to draw young people into discussion/debate, to raise questions to which they can find their own answers. A show that invites them to dialog, but a concrete, assumed one, not one for the deaf. It's worth watching when it's still on, who knows, maybe as many young people and parents as possible will see it, it would improve their relations with those around them.
