Monster is an up-to-date interpretation of British playwright Duncan Macmillan's text, a frank exploration of the strained relationships between teenagers and adults, the vulnerabilities hidden under the label of „bully” and how society decides who is the „monster”.
Monster is a show about hope and the harm you can do to yourself and others when you lose control.
The Monster performance is part of the cultural project „stickers, labels, qualifiers”, project co-financed by Bucharest City Hall through ARCUB within the Program „Bucharest. Together” 2025.
The performances will be followed by open discussions with the audience.
«Monster perfectly describes the emotional impasse that our society has reached. Exemplified by the education system, the story follows four destinies who meet and try to build a future - each in their own way - on a foundation shadowed by a painful past. The lack of real communication, the desperate search for one's identity in the social context and the inability to empathize contribute to perpetuate this deadlock, making it cyclical.»
